Megastar Movie Fails to Revive Careers of TV Anchors

Small screen anchors Rashmi Gautam and Sreemukhi, who have made a place for themselves on TV, have been reduced to junior artistes' roles in 'Bhola Shankar', denting their chances of any big screen appearances in the future.

Rashmi appears in a blink-and-a-miss role as she serves a paan to Chiranjeevi and looks sensuously at him before he gets into a fight and song in the movie.

However, Sreemukhi gets an extended role—she plays Keerthy Suresh's friend in the film, and she just imitates Bhumika, in the 'Kushi' movie recap scene, by showing her navel to Chiranjeevi, which drew more flak than appreciation, considering their age gap. Both the TV actresses went totally unnoticed.

"Actually, Rashmi Gautam played a lead actress in a few films like 'Antham' and 'Next Nuvve,' but her miniscule role in Bhola Shankar is bound to impact her career a bit," says a source, who felt that so-called special appearances could go awry if not presented in proper manner. "Sreemukhi was seen in films like 'Julayi' and 'Life is Beautiful' before turning a seductress in 'Crazy Uncles' which pushed her back to TV anchoring and reduced her acting assignments," he adds.

Both the 30-plus girls would have probably signed up for the movie, hoping that working with a megastar would give them some mileage. Unfortunately for them, the experiment proved to be disastrous as Bholaa Shankar tanked at the box office, and their roles were forgotten in no time.
