Nikhil Siddhartha in a true blue spy thriller

Editor Garry to make his directorial debut

The genre of Nikhil Siddhartha’s upcoming film — a spy thriller — seems to be creating quite a buzz. Editor-turned-director Garry reveals that the film is a piece of fiction inspired by some notable moments in Indian history.

“We have taken a significant element that happened in Indian history and tried to give it a contemporary touch so that today’s generation can connect to it,” says the director, adding that the film will be a true-blue spy thriller, and Nikhil will be seen as a spy.

“I have had this story for a long time and one reason I chose Nikhil was because he hasn’t done a film in this genre yet. Moreover, we wanted a young performer for the role of protagonist and he suited it perfectly,” says Gary. The director says considerable research went into writing the script.

“I know I cannot distort history and facts. We have got the information from authentic sources,” he says, adding that his experience as editor will come in handy. “The editor is the second director. I have strong understanding when it comes to chopping off unwanted stuff. So I have a command over the film’s flow and production.”
