Akhil Akkineni, whose second film with Hanu Raghavapudi failed to take off, has finally found one to direct his second film — Manam-fame Vikram Kumar. According to a reliable source, Akhil wants to announce the details once the project is officially launched. Earlier, he had jumped the gun by announcing the project with Hanu, which didn’t take off.
This time, he will make sure that all goes well before making any announcement. Vikram, who is close to the Akkineni family, was reportedly the choice of Akhil’s dad Nagarjuna and his best friend Nithiin.” Incidentally, Vikram’s super hit movie Manam had Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya and the late Akkineni Nageswara Rao in the cast and also had cameos by Akhil and mom Amala.
“After Manam, Nagarjuna wanted Vikram to work with his family members. He, thus, asked Vikram to come up with a script that suits Akhil,” says a source, adding a love story is in the making for the actor’s return. An official announcement is likely to be made soon and the shooting is expected to start immediately.
