Balakrishna Sir passion for cinema makes him a star: Pragya Jaiswal

Pragya Jaiswal resumes shooting for Balakrishna-starrer Akhanda

Pragya Jaiswal is thrilled about resuming shooting for Akhanda, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna. She says it’s amazing to be back on sets after the second wave of the pandemic. “I don’t think we have had such a long break between any two schedules since the time we started shooting for this film. So I was really craving to be back on sets. My team and crew from the film had become such an important part of my life that I was missing them a lot,” shares the actress.

While Pragya is back to doing what she loves the most — acting — she feels that in terms of the shooting experience, the safety and health of everyone will remain top priority and every film set is doing its best to ensure that. “No matter what, whether you have already had Covid-19 or you are vaccinated, we still need to take all the precautions because this virus keeps coming back,” she points out.

“Many films are opting for an OTT release because of the uncertainty of a theatre release, but many filmmakers are ready to wait it out too,” she notes.

Describing her co-star Balakrishna’s passion for cinema as one of his best traits, she shares that he keeps cracking jokes, and makes the atmosphere at the set light and fun. “What I have personally observed and really appreciate is that Balayya Sir is very respectful towards everyone, and hence he commands the same respect and love in return. I feel that’s definitely one of the qualities that make him the star he is,” says the Kanche actress.

Pragya refuses to say much about her role in the Boyapati directorial. “It’s strong, powerful, and unique one for me. I am waiting for the audience to watch the film. It’s definitely worth the wait,” she says.
