Ashish Raj, a theatre artiste from Hyderabad, made his debut on the big screen with the film Akatayi. Although the film was not a commercial success, it gave him confidence as a lead actor. Now, he has signed his second Telugu film with the same producers.
“We got a very good script with both rural and urban backdrops. There is also a suspense element which we are keeping under the wraps,” says Vijay, one of the producers. He adds that they roped in Ashish as the lead actor and are introducing a new girl Simran from Mumbai as the female lead. “Some senior actors have also been cast in the film and we are planning to launch it soon,” says the producer, adding that they want to shoot continuously and complete the film by August, in order to have a Dasara release.
