Rashmika Mandanna is set to spring a surprise! The actress will be seen in the role of a cricketer in her next Telugu outing, Dear Comrade. She has already begun training for the role at a cricket academy in Hyderabad.
The actress shares, “When I was initially told that I would play a cricketer, I was surprised and apprehensive, but the director instilled the confidence in me to play the part. So far I have been playing the girl-next-door roles, but I am sure this role will bring out the hidden and sportive side of me.”

But for someone who is new to the sport, how difficult was it. “I was always fascinated with basketball. I have been learning cricket from a coach at a city cricket club here regularly to play my part. Cricket is getting addictive! After seeing a video of my practice, my husband was surprised,” reveals Rashmika. Directed by Bharat Kamma, the film stars Vijay Deverakonda.
