Producer Kushi and actress Mehreen who was signed up as leading lady opposite Sudheer Babu, in a film made by the former, are engaged in a face off over the advance paid to the actress. When Sudheer Babu exited the movie for undisclosed reasons, Kushi signed up Chiranjeevi’s son-in-law, Kalyaan Dhev to step in for him but followed that up with also wanting to replace Mehreen in the film. The incensed actress, therefore, flatly refused to return the entire advance paid to her, when Kushi asked for it.
Kushi has now dragged the actress and her stylist who had also got an advance, to the Producer’s Council. The actress is now pointing out that since she had blocked her date for the film, she had lost out on two other films for which she had been approached. With this film now not taking off for her, she is finding her dates wasted which is loss of income for her.
Mehreen
“Mehreen has gone through a lot mentally in this matter and is very upset about the way things have shaped up. Since she is a member of MAA (Movie Artiste Association), she has brought this matter to their notice. She is also ready to return the advance amount subject to how things are decided by the authorities” a source informs.
Producer Kushi
The two stars who were signed up for the film, to be directed by Puli Vasu under the Rizwan entertainment banner, had graced the muhurat ceremony of the film in mid-August. It remains to be seen how the two bodies who have been approached by the warring parties resolve this face-off.
