Anil Ravipudi treks new path with Balayya\'s Bhagavanth Kesari

His films like Sarileru Neekeevaru' starring Mahesh Babu but he heavily banked on hilarious scenes

Young director Anil Ravipudi who made a name for himself with comic-capers like ‘Raja the Great’ and ‘F2’ is now treading a new path. He is coming up with the action adventure ‘Bhagavanth Kesari’ with Nandamuri Balakrishna to prove that he could also handle action themes with ease. “Anil Ravipudi has put his talent to test since his upcoming film with Balakrishna rides on action and emotion rather than comedy which is the forte of Anil,” says a source.

Actually, Anil Ravipudi captured some action episodes in his films like ‘Sarileru Neekeevaru’ starring Mahesh Babu but he heavily banked on hilarious scenes including ‘train episode’ and thereafter to engage the audience. “Even Raja The Great had good action sequences but he also relied on Ravi Teja’s comic timing and punchlines to score a big hit,” he adds.

With Balakrishna showcasing his brooding anger and flexing his muscles in action sequences, it would be a different offering from the director. “Probably, Anil wants to join the big league of directors since Telugu producers and stars love action filmmakers more than experts in other genres. So, Anil wants to prove a point and join the elite list of action directors like V V Vinayak, Boyapati Sreenu and Harris Shankar, he concludes.
