Actor Suriya is popular for his cop act in the Singam series. Now, his brother Karthi is following in his footsteps by playing a cop in an upcoming film: Khaki — The Power of Police. The film will simultaneously release as Theeran Adhigaram Ondru in Tamil. Reportedly, the Telugu version has been bought by Umesh Gupta of Aditya Music for a big sum.
“The film’s shoot is completed and it is now in the post production stage. The story is based on a true incident that made headlines in 2005. Director Vinod made it very interesting and I wanted to buy the Telugu theatrical rights,” says Umesh. The producer added that Karthi had taken utmost care for the police avatar as he completely moulded his body to suit the serious role.
H. Vinod of Sathuranga Vettai fame is the director of the film which will be released in both Tamil and Telugu while Rakul Preet Singh plays the female lead.
