Teja's satire on himself
Usually one who satirises others, director Teja did the same to himself for a change. After the release of his film Nene Raju Nene Mantri, the team met the media to talk about the openings of the political-thriller.
“I came to know that I can also make a hit film,” said Teja, adding that he was looking for a break all these years and finally got it. “Today, I am smiling and am happy because of the good openings the film has got,” he said.
The director also revealed an interesting story that happened when he approached producer Suresh Babu initially.
“When I first narrated the story to Rana, he liked it. But when I met his father Suresh Babu, he pointed out many mistakes. I felt quite hurt and told Rana that I didn’t want him (Suresh Babu) as a producer,” recalled the director, who backtracked once he realised that Suresh Babu’s doubts were valid.
I guess that’s how the script eventually shaped up. “I mended my ways and they too agreed to my style of working,” said the director, adding, “I will try to make another hit film with this success.”
