I have postponed my wedding: Kabir Duhan Singh

Actor Kabir Duhan Singh, who recently recovered from COVID-19, says that he has postponed his marriage due to Covid-19 second wave

The actor who got engaged to singer Dolly Sidhu in June 2019 had planned a 2020 wedding. However, the pandemic played spoilsport and the Jill actor had to postpone his wedding. Then the second wave hit in 2021, compelling the actor to postpone his wedding yet again.

“We’d actually planned for an intimate destination wedding this June at a Goa resort, with our dear ones. But the current situation has us backing away as both families have elders attending the ceremony and neither of us wants to take any risk,” adds Kabir.

For the moment, the couple are apparently considering the wedding in the month of December. “Let’s hope the situation improves because right now everyone’s health is important,” he adds.

The infection episode

Incidentally, Kabir was also one of those hit by the second wave of the pandemic, having contracted the virus in April while in Mumbai. But he had mild symptoms and immediately isolated himself. “I contacted my doctor and started taking medication soon,” says the actor.

While he was calm about having tested COVID positive, his parents, who live in Pune, were worried for him and insisted they join him in Mumbai. He declined their assistance as he believed he could manage on his own. But he was constantly talking to his parents, which gave him a lot of strength.

“I think we’re all going through tough times, so nothing makes you feel stronger than your loved ones beside you. I’m glad I could get all that; to me, family is strength,” he says.

Thankfully, with medications and some home remedies and breathing exercises, Kabir started feeling better a week after he tested positive. While his fiancée Dolly also took great care of him, preparing his food and leaving it outside his room, he also cooked on his own.

His post-COVID chapter

Though Kabir tested negative fifteen days after he tested positive for the virus, he still felt very weak and remained in isolation as a precautionary measure. The actor recovered quickly, something he attributes to his lifestyle, maintaining a positive frame of mind and being a fitness enthusiast. “These things enabled my quick recovery”. Kabir was also lucky professionally, he had wrapped up shooting for a few of his films.

Also, while during this lockdown, Kabir turned a writer and worked on his craft. He tells us that over the last year he’s been working on seven films in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.

All said and done, what still keeps him positive and stress-free is yoga, points out Kabir. “I start my day with meditation and then listen to devotional songs, which keep me energised and active,” says Kabir, signing off.
