When actor Mahesh Babu announced that he would be doing a film with director Vamshi Paidipally, he had said that the project would be produced by producers Dil Raju and Ashwini Dutt.
Now, we hear that Ashwini, who is flush with funds after the success of Mahanati, a film produced by his daughters Swapna and Priyanka Dutt, is eager to dissolve the collaboration with Dil Raju and single-handedly bankroll the film. This has reportedly sent the two producers into a tizzy. Meanwhile, a stressed-out Mahesh is trying to play peacemaker.
A source reveals, “Mahesh Babu is under pressure to resolve the issue as soon as possible because shooting for the film is scheduled to kick off next week. Since the actor shares a good rapport with both producers, he wants them to settle the issue amicably. He has already initiated efforts in this regard.”
However, producer Ashwini Dutt says that all is well between him and Dil Raju.
“All these rumours are baseless! Dil Raju and I are on good terms. He’s a top producer and I am a seasoned campaigner, and both of us continue to back the film together,” he says. When asked whether he will produce the film or just present it, Dutt remains tight-lipped. With the film going to floors next week, it’ll be interesting to see what happens.
