A brief look at the filmography of Regina Cassandra will tell you that she favours the ‘thriller’ genre.
Whether it be the recently released '7' and 'Evaru' in Telugu or her upcoming films 'Nene Naa' or 'Nenjam Marappathillai' in Tamil, the actress seems quite fascinated by the genre.
When we asked whether she had consciously sought out such films, Regina said,
“Each film has a different plot line and narration; importantly, the way the focus point in the [thriller] film emerges makes for an edge-of-the-seat experience. I think that’s what draws my attention towards thrillers. Also, these films give me an opportunity to try something different. I believe in making the most of my opportunities.”
Having played bubbly and glamorous roles earlier in her career, Regina, says she had cherished being called ‘girl-next-door’, as she was once dubbed.
“I am someone like that,” she says, but is quick to clarify that “as an actress I cannot be a girl-next-door all my life. I want to be a badass, hot girl, nerd, etc."
“I want to be everybody and I love trying and testing method to see what works for me. I know that people in the industry are watching me, but that doesn’t stop me from being myself,” she concludes.
