Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has sprung a surprise, as always! He has suddenly announced that he is commencing the shoot of Lakshmi’s NTR, a biopic on N.T. Rama Rao through the eyes of his wife Lakshmi Parvathi.
Although RGV had announced this project a year ago, the film didn’t take off. His latest announcement of reviving the project has seemingly caught everyone off guard, particularly director Krish, who is wrapping up the shooting of his NTR biopic, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna.
RGV informs that the film will be launched on Dasara and will be ready for release in January. He tweets, “Thrilled that we are launching Lakshmi’s NTR on Vijayadashami and the film will be released end of January details to be given at a press meet on 19th October at Tirupati.” He further elaborates, “NTR will end before Lakshmi Parvathi has entered into his life and my Lakshmi’s NTR will start with her entering into his life. GV Films is presenting along with Rakesh Reddy producing (sic).” At a time when Krish’s NTR biopic is generating interest, RGV’s ill-timed announcement of Lakshmi’s NTR could well snowball into a bitter controversy.
