Following reports of Akhil’s film with director Vamshi Paidipally being shelved because of the differences of opinion, the actor responded to the news on social media: “My dear friends from the print and online media, I have a manager and a PR team. Please feel free to call or meet whenever you’d like.... But writing false info without confirming is not only damaging but also hurts your credibility. Vamshi and I are very much working together.”
Unfortunately, he failed to mention who were his PR team and manager. He further Tweeted: “I had never made an announcement about any film officially. I will announce my film as soon as I feel I have found the right subject.” He, of course, forgot that his father Nagarjuna himself had announced at the Oopiri success meet that Vamshi would work with Akhil.
Vamshi, meanwhile, was noncommittal. “I haven’t narrated anything as yet to Akhil. We are mutually interested to work with each other but it is the content that is important,” he said.
The director, who is currently in the US on a vacation, added, “As I said, the content should excite us both. It is no more about combination, it is the content that speaks at the end of the day.” But he didn’t give any clarity on whether he would work with Akhil now or later.
