Priya Bhavani Shankar’s performances in Tamil films like Monster and Mafia: Chapter 1 brought her laurels, and she has now landed in Tollywood with a romantic comedy.
The Kadaikutty Singam star will be seen as the leading lady in a U.V. Creations production for debutant Anil. The actress is paired opposite Santosh Shoban in the film, which is nearing completion.
The director says he was impressed by Priya’s performance in Monster. “After I auditioned her, I realised that I couldn’t have got a better actress for the part,” says Anil. Priya will be seen as a working woman, and the film is about what happens to a couple within a year of their marriage. “Since Priya plays a newlywed, I asked her to show different moods. She did it effortlessly. She’s a natural performer and a quick learner too,” the director says. “She was new to the language (Telugu) but as the film progressed, she quickly learnt it,” adds Anil.
