Now that director S.S. Rajamouli has decided to release his RRR during Sankranti next year, all eyes are on KGF 2 starring Yash. It is reported that the film will be released this year — some say it will hit the screens as early as July. However, a source says “But that is not possible as the shooting will go on till April 15 and there is so much Vfx work that has to be done; so they may release it only for Dasara.” After the huge success of KGF, director Prashanth Neil is making the sequel on a bigger scale, roping in pan-Indian actors. He has got Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon from Hindi cinema and Telugu character artiste Rao Ramesh on board.
“Director Prashanth wants to release the movie before RRR at any cost, so he is speeding up the graphics work, and the release date may be announced soon, for the benefit of other filmmakers too,” says the source.
Films by Chiranjeevi and Prabhas, which are also in progress, are also to be released during Dasara.
