Director Jaya is confident about the film Vaisakham, where she is introducing the new pair Avantika and Harish. “Most of the films are based on love stories, but I am trying to come up with a different angle. I rely more on screenplay and in my film, the lead actress changes the protagonist in order to win her love,” says Jaya.
About the title Vaisakham, she says, “Many people tie the knot in the month of Vaisakham and it is very special in the calendar. In my film too, the girl enters the boy’s life in Vaisakham month and then it leads to marriage after some dramatic incidents.” Some of the incidents in the film are reportedly true. “When I lived in an apartment, I saw so many problems and how people react seriously even to some small issues. Based on those incidents, I inserted a few scenes in my film, as part of the story,” explains Jaya. Produced by her husband B.A. Raju, the film is picking up momentum and is to release this summer. “We are planning to release the film in April,” the director says.
