It seems to be the season of top actresses turning producers in Tollywood. Close on the heels of Kajal Aggarwal's joint production ‘Manu Charitra', another top-league actress Samantha announced her production plans. “Top actresses turning producers augurs well for the industry,” says producer Raj Kandukuri, who teamed up with Kajal Aggarwal for ‘Manu Charithra’. “She turned presenter for our movie and working with Kajal was a great experience. She was hands on about creative aspects and was very professional and committed. She wanted to encourage content-driven movies,” he adds.
On another actress Samantha joining the bandwagon of divas-turned-producers, he adds, “Probably, Samantha would also be dishing out films which re loaded with novel content and gripping narration,” he says and adds, “Both Kajal and Samantha have rocked in commercial cinema and understand the workings of mainstream movies. However, when they put their money they would like to be associated with path-breaking movies and would be hopeful of positive takeaways rather than just money, “he points out.
Actually, another glam diva Trisha is planning to step into production. “A-listers bring in brand value on board and also trigger necessary hype and hoopla around the film. Their vast experience will enhance creative sops in the project and also trigger interest among their fans and give the film the much-needed initial boost,” he concludes.
