The owner of a software company in the US, Sharath Srirangam always dreamt of becoming an actor. And while waiting for an opportunity to get a good script, Seetha Ramudu Kosam came his way, and is finally releasing this Friday. “When I was in college, I wanted to become an actor and I tried, but before that I want to complete my studies,” he shares, adding, “I joined the New York Film Academy for a one-year course in acting.
“When director Anil Gopireddy approached and narrated the script to me, I found it different and interesting. It was an emotional thriller, which is about how I solve a complex problem in a family,” explains Sharath about his role. Notably, Sharath has produced his film and says, “I wanted to give complete freedom to the director, that’s why I decided to produce it.”
Anil has earlier directed two films titled Vaikuntapali and Biscuit, but neither fared well at the box office. “I don’t know about those films, but I know that he has the experience and I believe in the script. I am confident about his skills,” says Sharath, adding that he has seen what the final cut looks like and that the output is very good. Coming from a family which is nowhere related to cinema, Sharath, whose father is a retired principal, says, “I used to watch Pawan Kalyan films a lot.”
