Ever since Chiranjeevi bagged the remake rights off Malayalam film, Lucifer, everyone’s been wondering about who would helm the Telugu version. Now, we’ve learnt that Chiru has roped in Sukumar to wield the megaphone for the action entertainer, and that actor Ram Charan will produce the film. The film is expected to go on floors next year.

Chiru, who was fascinated with the script and wanted to star in the remake version of the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever, was looking for a filmmaker with a complete command over the script and the craft while keeping up the style quotient of the film.

 

Sukumar’s last directorial was Rangasthalam (2018), starring actor Ram Charan. The filmmaker earlier made a couple of films with Chiranjeevi’s nephew, Allu Arjun. Having closely observed Sukumar’s work, Chiru was convinced that he would do complete justice to Lucifer’s remake, too.
