Superstar Pawan Kalyan is known for his charisma and crowd pulling prowess in Telugu film industry. He has stayed ahead of his rivals like Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun and NTR Jr a few times. "Pawan has set good opening records and has superseded his rivals at times. Yet again, the industry bigwigs are waiting for his new release 'Bro' to check out his stamina,” says a distributor.
Powerstar is teaming up with his nephew Sai Dharam Tej for the first time and it has generated a lot of interest among mega fans and it is being promoted well by leading production house People Media Factory. “The film has been traded for roughly Rs 70-odd crores in two Telugu states. While in Nizam region it is being distributed by Mythri Movie Makers and they are bound to get a good number of theatres,” he adds.
Pawan has delivered blockbusters like ‘Gabbar Singh’ and ‘Atharintiki Dharedi’ and proved to be a crowd puller with films like ‘Vakeel Saab’ and ‘Bheemla Nayak’. But after starting a political party, he is facing some issues in the state of Andhra Pradesh due to variation in ticket pricing in the first week.
“Even in Andhra Pradesh, he can draw huge openings if there are no hassles. However, the film has to collect Rs 45 to 50 crores in the first two or three days and subsequently hold on to recover its big investments in twin states. Nevertheless, it all depends on ticket pricing in two states,” he concludes.
