Vijayashanthi in Chiranjeevi's film?

Vijayashanthi could make a comeback into films after 12 years with Chiranjeevi's 150th film.

Actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi is currently busy shooting for his 150th film in and around Hyderabad. V.V Vinayak is directing the film, which is a remake of the Tamil hit Kaththi.

Now, Chiranjeevi’s team is planning to rope in yesteryear actress Vijayashanthi for a special character in the film. “There is one special character in the film. The makers, Chiranjeevi and director V.V Vinayak felt that Vijayashanthi would be perfect for the role. So, they approached her. She responded positively, but hasn’t signed the film yet,” says a source. Chiranjeevi and Vijayashanthi have acted in many hit films in the past, but they had a few differences after the film Gang Leader.

They later did one more film together, Mechanic Alludu, after which they decided not to work together again. Vijayashanthi, who is known as the ‘Lady Amitabh of Telugu cinema’ and was also the highest paid actress in India during her time, had joined politics and completely distanced herself from films.

If she agrees to work in this film, it’ll be her come back to the film industry after 12 years. And, for the female lead, the makers are trying to rope in actress Nayanthara.
