Rangasthalam to be dubbed!

The film's lead actor says that the film has exceeded expectations and deserves a pan-India release.

Ram Charan’s latest blockbuster film, Rangasthalam is all set to be dubbed into several Indian languages. This decision was taken earlier this week in the light of the period drama’s glorious success.

Since Rangasthalam has now been recorded as the second biggest hit of Telugu cinema, next only to Rajamouli’s Baahubali, the filmmakers have decided to tap the film’s linguistic potential like the latter.

“Now that the film has gone beyond all expectations, we would like to take it into as many territories as possible. We’re dubbing in Malayalam, Tamil, Bhojpuri and Hindi. Several other languages are under consideration,” revealed Ram Charan. The actor feels no compulsion to prioritise the language of his cinema.

“Rangasthalam was made in Telugu, but it would work just as well in any other language. I am least concerned with the spoken language of my films as long as the film delivers an emotional impact,” he explains.

Interestingly, Charan had acted in a Hindi film called Zanjeer — the failed remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s classic film — a few years ago. Despite the failure, Charan is not averse to doing another Hindi film. “Why not?! But it all depends on what I am offered. I am not tempted to tap the Hindi market for a pan-India audience. Any film in any Indian language can be a hit pan-India, as Baahubali proved.
