I am not involved with the drugs case: Tanish
For the last two days, it has been widely reported that actor Tanish had received summons from Bengaluru East Zone police in connection with the drugs case, which rattled the film industry there.
But Tanish has now issued a clarification on the matter. He says that he was in no way involved with the case, but had been called in connection with some information he wanted to share under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
“The Act states that if I have any information about the suspected person (producer Shankar Goud) with reference to the case, I can share that information with the police. I had met him a couple of years ago in Bengaluru for a film project, but that film did not materialise. And I have never been in any contact with him since,” said the actor.
Tanish further said, “This is a very sensitive issue and I was hesitant to even talk about it. But I felt it was my responsibility to issue a clarification. Also, my mother wasn’t feeling well, and that played a part in my decision.”
The reports had said that a film producer and three others were summoned along with Tanish in the case. Meanwhile, two actresses — Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanna - who were arrested in the case, recently got bail.
