Only a few South Indian actresses have held their own with male actors at the box-office, with Nayanthara and Anushka being two such. After the latter delivered a blockbuster Bhaagamathie recently, it is now Nayanthara’s turn.
The actress will soon be seen in the film Karthavyam that is releasing on March 16. Interestingly, Vijayashanthi, popularly known as ‘Lady Amitabh’ had previously worked in a film with the same title.
Nayan’s film is a dubbed version of the Tamil film Aramm, which got positive reviews. The actress plays a district collector and the film shows her fight against corruption. Since Nayanthara has a huge fan following in Telugu too, producer Sharrath Marar bought the Telugu rights and is releasing the film. He is confident that it will appeal to the Telugu audience too.
