After debuting in Hindi and Kannada films, Shobhita Rana is back in Tollywood. She is the latest addition in the upcoming Vaishnav Tej-Ketika Sharma film directed by Gireesaaya, which was launched in April. Shobhita is playing a central character.
The actress, who joined the sets of the romantic family drama on Thursday, is elated by the opportunity. “I am super excited to be part of such a big project and am looking forward to working with the young and talented team,” she says.
“It’s a significant role and I have been waiting for quite some time to sign a good project in Telugu. I feel this film is worth the wait,” shares Shobhita, who is also a fashion designer. The filmmakers approached Shobhita on seeing her photos and cast her after a look test.
The actress reveals that she was initially sceptical about working in the South. “I was keen to work in Bollywood and I have started off well. But I have been getting opportunities from the South too, so I felt like expanding my horizons. With the kind of content that’s being made here, I think it’s a great time to be part of the industry,” says Shobhita, who is working on her Telugu for her part.
The film is currently being shot in Hyderabad.
