Remember the 2008 romantic comedy Vinayakudu, helmed by Saikiran Adivi? The film, which starred Krishnudu and Sonia, received critical acclaim for its depiction of the love affair between an obese guy and his girlfriend.
It is now being remade in Hindi.
Apparently, a Bollywood comedian will debut as the male lead in the Hindi version. The buzz is that Saikiran will helm the remake too, and the film will go on the floors once things get back to normal.
“We have been toying with the idea of remaking Vinayakudu in Hindi for a long time. I believe the script has the required emotional depth and universal plotline to attract the Bollywood audience. So we are planning to make the film on a lavish scale,” explains Saikiran, who adds that he has tweaked the script to suit Bollywood sensibilities.
“The script and dialogue version are almost done, and we shall work on the casting. We have narrated the script to a few actors, and we shall be able to lock the cast once we get confirmation from them,” the director said.
