Post her National Award win for Pelli Choopulu, Ritu Varma is all excited about her next release Keshava. Describing her role, she says, “I play a law student and Nikhil’s love interest. My character is quite independent and plays a significant role in his journey.”
Ritu believes Keshava is the right follow-up after Pelli Choopulu. “I wanted to be part of a different genre film, and found this script very interesting. Director Sudheer Varma’s earlier film Swamy Ra Ra was very gripping and I wanted to work with him. I am glad that I got the opportunity," says Ritu.
The Hyderabad actress admits to being choosy.
“A lot of scripts came my way of late, but I was choosy. I want to be more than just a pretty face and to do meaty roles. I am happy to play roles that show me as an independent girl, which is what I am in real life too. The National Award did change the way I look at scripts.”
