After a spectacular debut in Kanche followed up with Loafer, Varun Tej is back with Kanche director Krish. This, however, is not a sequel of the period film. In fact, Varun plays a RAW agent in Krish’s Raayabaari.
Apparently the character is along the lines of Salman Khan in Ek Tha Tiger. Says Varun, “I thoroughly enjoyed doing Puri Jagannadh’s Loafer. But after it got over I started thinking about what kind of film, character and genre of cinema I should do next.”
Raayabaari was just what the doctor ordered. Says Varun, “It is a fabulous script and it gives me a chance to reunite with the Kanche team. I am doing a spy thriller for the first time. I play a RAW agent.”
A tremendous amount of preparation, including an all-new look for Varun, is on. Says the actor, “I hope it creates the interest level that we are hoping for. We started shooting in mid-March. The release date will be finalised soon.”
