Nikhil Gowda's Jaguar, Sandalwood's Fast & Furious
Bengaluru: Through June, around 25-30 BMW cars, a clutch of sports utility vehicles and 4 wheel drives, 10 motorcycles, two 16-wheeler container vehicles and a fire tender will be scorching up the highways in and around the Bulgarian capital, Sofia chasing down Nikhil Gowda.
Grandson of the former prime minister H D Deve Gowda and son of the former chief minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, Nikhil's every move will be scripted by Hollywood’s top stuntman, Kaloian Vodenicharov, famous for movies like Getaway, Leavey (in post-production), the television series Undercover, Ruby Strangelove Young Witch, among others.
The June 1 -June 25 shoot will take Sandalwood's Vin Diesel and his 50 man crew from Sofia to Reykavik, the Icelandic capital as well, where a breath-taking car chase is planned to be shot on ice.
“We are using one of the leading stuntsmen to shoot the best car chase scene in the history of south Indian movies,” Kumaraswamy said.
But why Bulgaria, we ask. “A BMW is available for just Rs 1.5 lakh. For that much money, we can’t even get an autorickshaw here. Initially, we had planned to shoot on outskirts of Bengaluru but dropped the idea as the shooting would have held up traffic.”
