Narayanamurthy challenges Censor Board

Apparently, the Censor Board objected to the portions about GST and demonetisation citing government policies.

Popular actor, director and producer R. Narayanamurthy is coming up with a film titled Annadatha Sukhibhava, which highlights farmers’ problems and the reasons behind their suicides.

However, the film has run into problems with the Censor Board which is asking for some cuts before it can be certified. “My film shows a few issues like GST and how the common man suffers due to demonetisation. Also, the soul of my film is about farmers and their problems,” says R. Narayanamurthy.

Apparently, the Censor Board objected to the portions about GST and demonetisation citing government policies. “Many businessmen take thousands of crores as loans from the banks and get away without repaying them. But when it comes to the farmers, the banks are strict about even Rs 1 lakh, though they may not have had a good crop,” says R. Narayanamurthy, asserting, “I agreed to remove GST and the demonetisation scenes, but I will not remove the farmers’ issues from my film. I will take it to the revising committee instead.”
