Chiranjeevi to learn horse riding and sword fighting for film on freedom fighter
Anticipation surrounding Chiranjeevi’s 151st film is getting higher by the day. And it is learnt that the Megastar is leaving no stone unturned to get into the skin of his character, Uyyalavada Narasimha Reddy, who is credited to be the first freedom fighter in the history of India’s freedom struggle. The actor, who would be essaying the role is training for both horse riding and sword fighting.
As part of preparation, Chiru is honing his horse-riding skills and is practicing for two hours every day at a race course in Hyderabad. “When director Surender Reddy told him about the sequences that involve him riding a horse, it excited the actor to the core and he began making efforts to ensure the portions look authentic,” says a source from the unit.
“The film boasts of elaborate sword fighting sequences, and the actor shall begin training in the martial art, later this month,” the source adds.

Very little data is available about the freedom fighter, and so the film’s writers, Paruchuri brothers, have done an extensive research to gather information about him. To ensure that the data they have is accurate, they also consulted historians and scholars, apart from sourcing material from the state’s official gazette.
The team also visited libraries and universities in London, and sourced books written by British authors about Uyyalavada during that period.
