The election effect!

Several Telugu films are rescheduling their release dates in view of the forthcoming national elections.

With elections in the two Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) announced for April 11, there may be a delay in the release of a few Telugu films.

Naga Chaitanya and Samantha-starrer Majili and another small film Prema Katha Chitram are likely to reschedule their release dates, with Nani’s Jersey and Sai Dharam Tej’s

Chitralahari also expected to follow suit. Apart from the elections, the Indian Premiere League (IPL) also starts in April, which may affect film fortunes as well.

However, in a clever move, producer Dil Raju has scheduled the release of Mahesh Babu-starrer Maharshi for May, skillfully averting both the elections and the IPL season.
