The poster of Vijay Deverakonda’s first Tamil film, Nota, has created a storm of sorts as it features the Arjun Reddy actor showing an inked middle finger. However, the poster does seem to have come at an opportune time, considering many South Indian actors are veering towards politics.
Explaining the poster, Vijay says, “That’s my way to say ‘whether you love me or not; whether you want me to or not, I am coming! That's my character’s way of saying that he doesn’t give a hoot about the system. He only cares about the people.
Stating why he decided to go bilingual, the actor says, “I've been receiving so much attention and a lot of requests to act in a Tamil film by the audiences there. They were watching my Telugu films in a big way, so I decided to go bilingual!”
Notably, Vijay has promised his Tamil fans that he will mouth the Tamil lines in the film himself. “Yes, I’ve promised them that they'll see my performance in my own voice. So I am learning the language on the go and shooting. Since the script was locked, I had two weeks to work on it before we started shooting. The languages have a few similarities. It helps me latch on to some words and build from there,” shares Vijay. Nota, claims Vijay, will be a wake-up call for the nation. “It will be like a reality check!” he exclaims.
