Nayantara prefers to shun Lady Superstar' tag

Dusky actress Nayanthara claimed that she doesn’t want to be addressed as ‘Lady Superstar’ since she was receiving more brickbats than appreciation. “I don’t know why if 10 people are lauding the moniker while 50 are commenting against it. So I request the media to shun this title and address me as just Nayanthara,” says the actress in a video. She has done over 75 films in the last two decades and recently moved to Bollywood and tasted success. “Maybe, I haven’t reached that stage or being a female, I am deprived of it, but I am happy without the tags or titles,” she adds.

Meanwhile, the Kollywood diva received top billing of Rs 6 crore for ‘Jawan’ to become the highest-paid actress in South India. She outwits her peers like Anushka Shetty, Pooja Hegde, Kajal Aggarwal, Rashmika Madanna, and Shruti Haasan, who take home anywhere between Rs 2.5 to 3 crores. "Undoubtedly, Nayantara has become the undisputed numero uno actress and deserves a superstar tag," says a producer who adds, 'Nayantara never compromised on her remuneration but delivered wonderful performances to keep her stocks soaring high,"

Nayantara's remuneration touched the Rs 4 crore mark in Tollywood while working with Telugu stars like Chiranjeevi (Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy) and Balakrishna (Simha to Jai Simha). She was keen about her pay while doing regular glam-centric roles, but revised her pay for female-centric films.
