Anushka visits Mahanandeswara Swamy temple in a fishing boat!

This is the actress’ first public appearance post the lockdown

Anushka Shetty visited the famous Mahanandeswara Swamy Temple near Pattiseema at Polavaram in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday. This is the Baahubali actress’ first public appearance since the lockdown began.

Anushka was accompanied by her close friend and costume designer Prasanti Tipirneni during the visit. Photos of the actress visiting the temple in a boat have gone viral on social media.

“It was just a private trip! Anushka wanted to keep it a low-key affair and a confidential one,” says a source close to the actress. “Anushka has been toying with the idea of visiting a holy place ever since the country went into the unlock phase. She was told that Mahanandeswara Swamy Temple in the Pattiseema region is a very famous shrine, and she decided to have a darshan of Lord Siva. She is glad that the trip has been fruitful,” the source said.

Since boats for tourists in the Polavaram region (between East and West Godavari) have been temporarily stopped due to recent mishaps, only fishing boats (boats with engines) were available.

“Anushka did not mind travelling in a fishing boat; in fact, she thoroughly enjoyed the ride down the Godavari River, bordered by the picturesque Papi Hills. It was a much-needed break for her,” the source added.

Anushka seems to have quite a spiritual bent of mind. Whenever she gets time, she makes it a point to visit shrines. Some of the holy places she has visited include the Mookambika Temple in Kollur, the Sri Mahalingeswara Temple in Puttur, Kedarnath, Shridi and Shri Durgaparameshwari Temple at Bappanadu. The buzz is that the actress met two filmmakers — Sirwass and Kasi Vishwanath — who hail from the Pattiseema region, during the recent trip.
