A while after making her Telugu debut in Akhil, Sayyeshaa Saigal is set for a comeback in Tollywood. The actress will be seen as the female lead opposite Nandamuri Balakrishna in a film directed by Boyapati Srinu.
This will be Sayyeshaa’s first Telugu film after her marriage with Tamil actor Arya last year. “We wanted someone who is very expressive and looks natural. We have seen Sayyeshaa’s earlier films and felt she would suit the part. When we bounced the story idea to her, she was agreeable,” explains the film’s producer Miryala Ravinder Reddy. Apparently, the Shivay actress will play a young IAS officer. “The role requires bravery, determination and spunk from the actress, apart from being straightforward and natural. We found all these qualities in Sayyeshaa, and her energy will elevate the role,” Ravinder shares.
He adds that they were also looking for an actress who could join the sets immediately. Malayalam actress Prayaga Martin was the original choice. “But we had to look for an alternative because of her date issues,” the filmmaker said.
