Jeedigunta succumbs to COVID-19

Popular writer, theatre artiste and Jnanapith Award winner Jeedigunta Rama Chandramurthy has passed away. The 80-year-old had tested positive for COVID-19 a few days ago.

He was the grandfather of actor Varun Sandesh. Varun’s father Vijay Sarathy is Jeedigunta’s elder son.

Jeedigunta has written many plays and novels and also worked for films. He provided the story for the film America Abbayi directed by Dukkipati Madhusudhana Rao, and also wrote for a couple of TV serials.

"Rest in peace thatha.. Love you and Miss you.," Varun posted on Instagram, along with a photo of Jeedigunta.
