Deccani film Shaadi Express out this Thursday

Directed by Sanjay Punjabi, the story revolves around three physically impaired men who fall in love.

In Hyderabad, apart from Telugu cinema, there exists a world of parallel cinema, which goes by the name of Deccani cinema. These movies target audiences in the Old City — mostly the Hindi and Urdu speaking areas in Telangana and along the border of Maharashtra.

One such film called Shaadi Express, is releasing on October 12. Starring top actors Aziz Naser, Mast Ali and Ismail, the film has been directed by Sanjay Punjabi, who has made seven films in the past. “It’s a comedy film and has been shot and made entirely in Hyderabad,” says Sanjay. Revealing that the story revolves around three young people, he adds, “The three are deaf, dumb and blind respectively. They fall in love with three girls and pretend like they are not disabled in front of the girls’ parents. It’s a script written by me and has not been copied from anywhere. The film has been made with Hyderabadi lingo in Hindi and Urdu.”

Sanjay also mentioned that he wanted to release the film last week, however couldn’t do so as the censor board official was on leave. “The three lead actors are very big actors in Hyderabad and their films are a craze in Arabic countries. We are planning to release the film in Adilabad, Mahbubnagar and borders of Maharashtra. We are trying to release the film in Mumbai as well as other cities too,” he concludes.
