No doubt, there is a big reason behind the massive success streak of the famed writer and director combo in Tollywood. We are talking about none other than numero uno writer Vijayendra Prasad and director S S Rajamouli. "They have 30-odd members ranging from 20 plus boys and girls along with matured and experienced minds for story discussions", says a source and adds, "Rajamouli garu sits quietly while the team members discuss various scenes, character arcs, key emotional points and other aspects in the process of making a script. Legendary Vijayendra Prasad Garu actively participates in story discussions and also cracks a joke and smiles when someone suggests nonsensical ideas but sustains the movement with interesting counterviews. They would discuss varied aspects threadbare over a healthy argument to come up smashing larger-than-life scripts," he adds.
Kudos to father and son for keeping up with the old-fashioned tradition of story discussions which helps in looking at a script from various angles rather than just a one-sided affair, he adds. He further says, " Dasari and Viswanath Garu used to have such face-to-face discussions with writers and fine-tuned their scripts. They didn't mind and took things sportively when few writers questioned the logic behind certain scenes and they used to correct themselves if they found the objections were right," the source points out.
With many films bombing in Tollywood due to lack of novelty in plots and new age screenplay, Rajamouli is setting an example of how to churn out blockbusters by thoroughly discussing about script and screenplay and preparing a fool-proof bounded script. "Hope other filmmakers will follow suit," he concludes.
