Seasoned star Venkatesh who impressed viewers with his realistic performance in films like 'Narappa' and with his comic timing in 'F2,' is trying his hand in action with his upcoming film 'Saindhav.' "Venkatesh is fascinated with action roles for many years and loves to wield guns and flex his muscles but he got that opportunity only now, " says a source and adds, "Venkatesh watches anger-driven movies in various languages a lot. Despite having a good physique and stamina, he was confined to comedy and self-piteous roles."
Venkatesh took some time to break away from his lover boy and family man image. "He did films like 'Ganesh' and 'Gharshana' and proved that he can pull off fiery roles too. But with his wholesome entertainers like 'Malleswari' and 'Aduvari Matalaku Arthaley Veruley turning out to be blockbusters, he was forced to do more of such roles. With filmmakers wanting to mint money riding on his softer image, he just kept repeating himself," he points out.
After delivering the biggest hit of his career F2 where Venky Asanas became a rage among disgruntled husbands, he followed it up with its sequel F3 but it wasn't a money spinner like F2. "With younger heroes also doing his kind of family dramas, Venkatesh wanted to move out of it and show his brooding anger once again to enthrall his fans, he concludes.
After showcasing his dark shades in the web series Rana Naidu, Venky is surely game for variety...Are filmmakers listening..?
