There are only a few actresses in Telugu cinema who can pull the crowd into the theatres on their own. Besides Vijayashanthi and Anushka Shetty, Samantha has now been added to the list of actresses tagged as lady superstars.
The recent film Oh! Baby, in which Samantha played the lead without any other top actor, has turned out to be a huge hit. We have come to understand that though the actress was nervous about making it on her own, the appreciation for her performance and the revenue generated by the film at the box office has added immensely to her confidence. “The makers are now planning another film with the same combination of Nandini and Samantha, which will also be a female-oriented film,” reveals one of our sources.
Interestingly, as per our source, Samantha plans to do an action film next. “She is trying different roles, and as she hasn’t done any action-oriented film, she wants to give that genre a try too,” the source adds.
