All is not well between D V V Danayya and Mahesh Babu?

The actor is reportedly unhappy with the manner in which producer Danayya is underplaying the success of Bharat Ane Nenu.

In spite of delivering one of the biggest hits of Telugu cinema in recent times, producer D.V.V. Danayya and his film’s leading man, Mahesh Babu are not on the same page regarding the film’s success. If reliable sources are to be believed, Mahesh Babu is mighty unhappy with the way the success of Bharat Ane Nenu is being downplayed. Shockingly, sources claim the producer is underplaying the film’s box-office earnings to suit his own purposes.

“Danayya wants to play up the success of Rangasthalamm, superhit starring Ram Charan since the former is very close to Chiranjeevi and his son. And since Mahesh Babu prefers to stay away from the fierce political atmosphere of the Telugu film industry, the success of Bharat Ane Nenu is being completely underplayed,” explains the source.

Speaking about the ‘battle’ between the two films, a leading actor says, “Both the films are superhits. But the producer is playing up the success of Rangasthalam because he wants to be in the good books of Ram Charan, especially as he is also doing Danayya’s next film being directed by Boyapati Srinu. He needs to keep his hero happy. And clearly belongs to the Chiranjeevi-Ram Charan camp.”
Sadly, though Bharat Ane Nenu has made profits close to Rs 20 crore — a record for the Telugu film industry — and though the producer has never made more profits on any of his other films, he seems to be showing a marked preference for Rangasthalam.
