After the success of Srimanthudu and Nannaku Prematho, Telugu actor Jagapathi Babu is in demand not only in Tollywood, but in the Tamil industry too. The actor recently signed a film with Tamil superstar Vijay. Shooting has already started in Hyderabad.
The actor says that his and Vijay’s father were best friends. Jagapathi Babu’s father, late V.B. Rajendra Prasad, was a popular producer and director and had made many hit films like Dasara Bullodu, Atma Balam and Antastulu. “I am so excited to be part of this Tamil film and at the same time sharing screen space with Vijay. He is humble, dedicated and very professional,” says Jagapathi Babu.
The untitled film is directed by Bharathan and produced by Venkatram Reddy, son of popular yesteryear producer B. Nagi Reddy of Vijaya Movies. Nagi Reddy and V.B. Rajendra Prasad were close friends too.
“Yes, it brings back old memories of our families and it continues between me and Venkatram Reddy garu,” says Jagapathi Babu, adding, “My father is watching me and I am confident that he would be equally elated.” He will also be seen in Pulimurugan with Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and has signed another Tamil film with Vishal.
