RRR producer DVV Danayya wasn’t seen throughout the film’s Oscar campaign in USA, sparking a flurry of rumours, including one that he had been ‘dumped.’ And he continues to be absent from functions related to the film in India too!
A couple of days ago, the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) felicitated Oscar winners MM Keeravani and Chandrabose in Hyderabad (RRR won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu). Important members of the RRR unit were present (except the heroes). While most of the current producers from the industry attended the event, Danayya himself was nowhere to be seen. His absence has once again led to speculation that he was not invited to the event.
We have now reliably learnt that an invitation to the event was indeed extended to the producer. However, the reason for his absence remains a mystery.
Whatever the reason, Dannaya’s absence at the felicitation event disappointed many.
