After her impressive show in Raju Gari Gadhi 2, Seerat Kapoor will be seen next in Okka Kshanam, a sci-fi directed by Vi Anand. Seerat says, “I play a newlywed homemaker and I am paired opposite Avasarala Srinivas. My character is about the journey a woman goes through, how she falls in love and gets married and the hardships she goes through thereafter. So it’s basically the journey of a woman from white to black,” adding, “The performance will be realistic since I depended on my instincts. And playing a homemaker wasn’t challenging because Avasarala and I got understood each other really well.”
Ask her how the experience of working in a sci-fi thriller was, and she replies, “It’s a different genre and a first-of-its-kind for me. The character is more about how I react to things and my sensitivity, etc.”
Interestingly, Seerat credits director Vi Anand for unlocking her potential as an actor. “I want to thank him for penning a mature role. He knows how to strike a balance between commercial and artistic elements. The female leads in his films have several layers and there’s a lot more to them than what meets the eye. He gave me the freedom to perform and bring in my own style whilst bringing out the hidden side in me.” Justifying the title Okka Kshanam, she says, “The film is aptly titled because the story is about how life can strangely change within no time, It’s a sensibly put script and an edge-of-the-seat thriller.”
