Post the success of Janatha Garage, Mohanlal has decided to release some of his Malayalam films in Telugu. Last week, Manyam Puli was released and now his film Oppam is being dubbed and released as Kanupapa soon. Directed by Priyadarshan, this film is one of the biggest hits in Malayalam, collecting more than Rs 50 crore.
Mohanlal plays a blind man in this crime-action thriller. Initially, many people approached the actor for a Telugu remake, but he finally decided to release its dubbed version in Telugu. Interestingly, he is producing the Telugu version along with B. Dilip Kumar.
Boosted by the success of his Telugu films —Manamantha and Janatha Garage, Mohanlal decided to woo the Telugu audience. While several Telugu stars eye the Malayalam market, now the superstar of Malayalam has entered the Telugu zone.
