Things worked out fine for me: Manasa Himavarsha
Actress Manasa Himavarsha is happy with the way things are going for her, with two interesting projects — Pawan Kalyan’s Katamarayudu and director Vamsy’s sequel of Ladies Tailor, Fashion Designer — in the pipeline. Having started off her journey on television with the dance show Challenge, Manasa recalls how she never really expected to be here.
“The show was all I had in mind at that time and I didn’t really look at what would happen later. I am glad things worked out fine for me,” she shares. Recalling her journey in films, she says, “I agreed to the film Romance because that seemed like an experience worth trying out. Although I wonder how it would have been to wait a while, now that I have taken a plunge, here I am.”
While she has already worked in a few films, today, Manasa is in the news for her two upcoming films. “It’s great to have been cast in a film like Fashion Designer because not everyone gets the opportunity to work with legends like Vamsy sir. And luckily for me, I have an important role and ample screen time. I will be playing a simple village girl,” reveals the actress, who grew up in Chennai but hails from Vijayawada.
As for the experience of working with a star like Pawan Kalyan, Manasa says, “I have begun shooting for Katamarayadu, but haven’t shot with him yet. I am really looking forward to that.”
Meanwhile, Manasa is happy that she waited patiently and didn’t go on a signing spree after Romance. “I was being typecast into the same genre of films while I wanted a wider scope. It has worked out. I have ventured into Kannada cinema also,” she says.
The actress will soon be seen in Meena Bazaar, the Kannada remake of Vedam in which she reprises the role of Anushka. “It’s an absolute honour for me because it’s not easy to bag such a character so early in our career,” she declares.
