Talented actress Keerthy Suresh has reportedly signed up with leading production house People Media Factory, to do a lavish woman-oriented film. “She liked the author-backed role narrated by a young director and agreed to do a female-centric movie which would be made on a lavish scale befitting the status of the banner,” sources said.
Interestingly, the actress who shared screen space with top stars like Mahesh Babu in ‘Sarkarivari Paata’ and Nani in ‘Dasara’, has again chosen a women-centric movie to keep her career alive and kicking in Tollywood. “She was appreciated for her performance and dancing skills in ‘Sarkarivari…’ and her village belle role in ‘Dasara’ also gripped the audience but she wasn’t getting the right offers thereafter. Besides she is very choosy about her roles,” he adds.
Keerthy Suresh rose to fame with ‘Mahanati’ and stunned the audience with a realistic portrayal of legendary actress Savitri and pulled off a ‘tearjerker’ role with consummate ease. Later, she did some female-centric movies like ‘Penguin’ and ‘Miss India’ but they bombed at the box office. “Keerthy seems to have realized that carrying a film on her shoulders is not an easy task and then started doing films with stars like Vijay and Mahesh Babu,” he added.
Right now, she is playing sister to megastar Chiranjeevi in ‘Bholaa Shankar’ and is also pinning hopes on another author-backed film to prove her mettle once again in Telugu filmdom.
